Hallo BestieSmart! Pada artikel kali ini, MinSmart mau bahas tentang apa itu minat dan bakat. Selain itu, sebenarnya apa sih yang membedakan antara minat dan bakat, juga kenapa kita harus tau apa minat dan bakat yang kita miliki sebagai manusia. Kita semua tahu bahwa setiap orang di dunia ini memiliki sifat dan kepribadian yang unik dan berbeda-beda. Mulai dari cara kita berpikir hingga cara kita berinteraksi dengan orang lain, keunikan manusia memang menarik untuk ditelusuri. Mungkin BestiSmart pernah bertanya-tanya bagaimana bisa seseorang memiliki bakat luar biasa dalam bidang musik sementara yang lainnya unggul dalam bidang olahraga? 

Setiap individu itu unik dan memiliki ragam juga kelebihan dan kekurangannya masing-masing. Kelebihan yang dimiliki oleh individu ditunjang oleh minat dan bakat yang dimiliki. Namun masih banyak yang salah paham mengenai konsep minat dan bakat ini. Minat dan bakat merupakan dua konsep berbeda yang saling berkaitan.

Minat adalah ketertarikan yang muncul dari pengalaman dan interaksi individu dengan lingkungan (Dewey, 1913). Minat ini merujuk pada ketertarikan atau kecenderungan seseorang terhadap suatu aktivitas atau bidang tertentu. Aktivitas yang Ketika individu tersebut melakukannya, ia akan merasa Bahagia atau senang.

Sedangkan bakat merupakan kemampuan yang dimiliki individu yang dapat dikembangkan melalui pendidikan dan pengalaman (Gagné, 2004). Bakat ini berkaitan erat dengan potensi bawaan secara genetik yang dimiliki oleh individu. Meskipun bakat merupakan kemampuan atau potensi bawaan, diperlukan banyak latihan, pengetahuan dan dukungan sosial agar bakat dapat mencapai prestasi di bidangnya. Bakat ini dapat bersifat akademik dan non-akademik. Bakat yang bersifat akademik berhubungan dengan pelajaran di sekolah seperti matematika, geografi, bahasa, dan lain-lain. Sedangkan bakat non-akademik berhubungan dengan bidang seni, olahraga, sosial, dan lain-lain. 

Secara umum, bakat dapat di identifikasi dari karakteristik sebagai berikut:

  1. Individu dapat dengan mudah mempelajari atau melakukan sesuatu yang menjadi bakatnya tanpa bantuan orang lain
  2. Individu tidak akan merasa terbebani atau merasa senang untuk melakukan hal-hal yang menjadi bakatnya, bahkan senang melakukan hak yang lebih menantang dan melakukan improvisasi dibidang nya.
  3. Individu akan memiliki pemaknaan dan penghargaan yang tinggi pada bidang bakatnya. Misalnya seseorang menyukai bermain gitar, maka ia akan senang mendengarkan permainan gitar juga memiliki pemahaman yang lebih dalam mengenai teknik permainan gitar yang dilakukan.
  4. Individu tidak akan mudah merasa bosan bahkan akan terus mengeksplorasi bidangnya.
  5. Kemampuan tersebut timbul secara alamiah meskipun tidak digali.

Minat dan bakat merupakan dua hal yang saling berkaitan namun memiliki perbedaan dalam sifat dan pengaruhnya terhadap perkembangan individu. Seseorang bisa saja memiliki minat dibidang seni namun ia tidak berbakat dibidang itu. Dan bisa saja seseorang yang tidak berminat di bidang seni, namun memiliki bakat alamiah dibidang tersebut. 

Maka dari itu, penting bagi kita sebagai individu untuk mengetahui minat yang digemari serta bakat alamiah yang terpendam didalam diri kita. Manfaat dari mengetahui minat dan bakat diri, yaitu:

  1. Individu dapat mengembangkan dan mengoptimalisasi potensi yang ada didalam diri 
  2. Individu dapat memilih karir atau jurusan yang sesuai dengan diri nya dan memperoleh kepuasan dan keberhasilan lebih tinggi.
  3. Individu lebih dapat termotivasi dan semangat dalam menjalankan aktivitas yang sesuai dengan minat nya

Mengetahui minat dan bakat sangat penting untuk kesuksesan diberbagai bidang kehidupan. Dengan pemahaman yang cukup, individu dapat mengejar tujuan yang lebih bermakna dan memuaskan.
